About Emerald Green

Emerald Green began life as SHM Garden Services, providing a range of lawn and garden services to customers across Arbroath and the surrounding Angus area.

Over time, lawn care became an increasingly important part of the business. What started with an appreciation for a healthy, perfectly striped lawn developed into a much deeper interest in understanding what makes grass truly thrive — from nutrition and soil health to weeds, moss, disease and changing seasonal conditions.

As the business became more specialized, SHM Garden Services was rebranded as Emerald Green, reflecting our main focus today: professional lawn care and helping customers achieve healthier, stronger and better-looking lawns.

While lawn care is at the heart of Emerald Green, we haven’t left our garden-services roots behind. We continue to provide selected garden services, including hedge trimming and professional weed-control treatments, allowing existing and new customers to call on us for more than just their lawn.

Our lawn-care approach is based on experience, observation and proven results. Products and treatments are continually assessed and refined around what performs well in local conditions, rather than simply applying the same treatment regardless of what a lawn actually needs.

As a member of the UK Lawn Care Association, Emerald Green is part of a nationwide network of professional lawn-care specialists sharing knowledge, research and best practice. We also work closely with Angus Horticulture, giving us access to professional-grade products and ongoing technical support.

Behind Emerald Green is Scott Holmes, who personally carries out the work and deals directly with customers. Whether it’s improving a struggling lawn, maintaining an established one or tackling work elsewhere in the garden, the approach remains simple: honest advice, professional work and recommendations based on what will genuinely benefit your garden.
